In case you missed this week's The View From The Top, here is the Immigration update for the week of September 28, 2022 from Fragomen's Julia Onslow Cole.
In this show Julia discussed immigration changes in the UAE. There are 3 key changes:
- A complete reclassification of all the visa categories - they are also adding job seeker and job exploration visa categories
- Introduction of the Green Visa. This is an individual self-sponsored visa. We believe the purpose of which is to retain talent in the UAE. Salary levels for such visas are low but you need to qualify based on certain skilled categories. There are three types of Green Visas:
- Highly skilled
- Freelance
- Investor
- There are new amendments to the Golden Visa to make it a bit easier to access — this will most likely result in an influx of applications
